Diana Bahçja is still numb from the shock of being arrested and separated from her child just 8 days after she was born.
She says that she only cried in the prison cells and was separated from the other women.
"It was very difficult for me to stay away from the child. I couldn't handle it. I stayed there bitterly, crying day and night. I found the boy well, the husband and mother-in-law had taken care of him. I stayed alone in prison. I have not joined other women. The days in prison have been very difficult."
The expectant mother confesses that although she had told the Shkodra Police Department and the capital that she had just given birth, no one took this fact into account, showing indifference.
"I had body pains in the cell. The nurses took care of me. They told me you were sentenced to 1 month and 10 days, those from Tirana told me 1 month and 20 days. I told them that I was just born, they said 'we don't want to know. You're just doomed. The Tirana police will come to pick you up'.
I stayed in Shkodër for 3-4 hours, then the Tirana police came to pick me up. The Tirana police have not spoken at all. In prison they didn't say anything, they were just silent.
I wasn't even aware of the fine or the punishment, they just came home to pick me up." Now there is a thank you for all those citizens who have shown solidarity with her case.
