The head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, was questioned for two hours by SPAK prosecutors about the CEZ-DIA affair.

After leaving SPAK, Meta said that this issue is being used politically by Edi Rama to remove, according to him, attention from government scandals.

Meta stated that he was asked by the prosecutors as a person who has knowledge of the circumstances, as far as the investigation of the CEZ-DIA affair is concerned. He reiterated that his name is not in any act or document.

He claimed the lawsuit was filed by a false whistleblower with a domestic violence conviction. Meta was referring to the lawyer Romeo Kara.

Asked about this, the lawyer Kara says that the implication of Meta was made by Kastriot Ismailaj's wife.

A few years ago, Romeo Kara published an important piece of evidence that shows the involvement of former President Ilir Meta in the CEZ affair.

In the published video is the wife of Kastriot Ismailajt, administrator of the company DIA, for the collection of debts of CEZ, who shows her husband's friendship with Ilir Meta.

"In minutes 4-5 and 9-10 of her interview, Ismailaj's wife clearly states that Ilir Meta influenced ERE to lower the price of selling energy from KESH to CEZ and that CEZ offered a payment to Ismailaj on the condition that he pass it on to the people in power behind him.

This is also the essence of my report, regarding the DIA-CEZ affair, submitted to the prosecutor's office, a few weeks before I became familiar with this video", writes Romeo Kara.
