Not only Shengjini, also some areas in Gjirokastër under the power of
Fire in the Broad Mountain

Gjirokastra is also facing a difficult situation due to the fires. After the fire that fell on Malin e Giëre, another fire has appeared in the park of Viroi.

The flames continue with high intensity even in the evening hours, while there are numerous firefighting, military and volunteer forces in the area.

Meanwhile, another active focus of the fire is the one that has involved the Boda forest in the Maliqi area, which, favored by the strong wind, has burned a considerable area of trees and bushes.

Firefighters are trying to keep the fire under control with circumstantial means as the rugged mountainous terrain makes it impossible for the firefighting forces to intervene with their own vehicles.

Another large-scale fire engulfed today an area planted with olives near the village of Kaninë in Vlora, where two houses were also endangered.
