Former judge of Kruja, Enkelejda Hoxha was arrested on February 11, 2021 for corruption, after being accused of releasing from prison some people with criminal pasts.
The High Council of the Judiciary (HJC) then decided to dismiss her, upon receipt of a request from the High Inspectorate of Justice (ILD).
At the time, Hoxha was labeled by Prime Minister Edi Rama as a monster, saying that justice reform was yielding the first results.
In an interview for the show "Sot" on "Euronews Albania", Hoxha returned the answer for the first time to Prime Minister Rama, saying that he is not a monster and that he will return stronger.
"I was labeled with a monster label, while that label does not belong to me at all, I am not like that. Of course getting out of here or resuming my life will be difficult, but I am ready to face everything, as long as I am confident in judging and exercising a duty on my part properly. "If I will come back again, because it is something I will ask until the end to return as a judge, I will come back stronger than before", said Hoxha.
"I would not change anything in my decisions"
"If I went back to my cases in court, I would make the same decisions," the former judge said in an interview.
Hoxha says that she made the decisions with her judgments and convictions, in relation to the implementation of the law.
"These are decisions, judgments which have been judged on my inner conviction and on a professional conviction always in compliance with the law. "These are issues that have been addressed, have been properly reviewed and even if I go back to these decisions, I would definitely make the same decisions", she said.
Hoxha believes that she has not faltered in her decision-making, despite the nature of the work.
"I do not believe that something has gone wrong in my decisions, absolutely not, because of the work I was doing, because of the workload, because of a productivity in my work, which was maximal at a high level in any analysis. "This was done annually by this court", she said.
The Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO) has sentenced Hoxha to 3 years in prison and due to the shortened trial, will serve 2 years in prison.
The former judge is in custody and has sent her case to the GJKKO.
