Former judge Ded Miri has passed away at the age of 70.

It is learned that Ded Miri, who was previously the head of the Kurbin Court, was suffering from a serious illness.

The news was announced by Judge Olti Skrame, who wrote in a post on social media that Ded Miri helped him in his first steps as a magistrate.

"When I started my duties in July 2019, at the Kurbin Judicial District Court, he was the head of the court in the position of deputy president. He welcomed me very well, effectively guaranteeing me independence and the opportunity to influence the improvement of the image of the court, together with colleagues and the administration," he emphasizes in his post.

Today, Ded Miri, former judge and former court director, passed away due to health reasons!

His life is a book. Born on March 5, 1956, in Fushë-Kuqe, Kurbin, he was a permanent resident of that area.

The only surviving male of his family, from the extermination carried out by the communists, who, despite their commitment to the Anti-Fascist National Liberation Front, after the War, killed 11 members of the Miri family, for political reasons.

After being sentenced "only" to imprisonment in Spaç Prison, spending eight years in this prison, as well as five years of forced labor in the mine nearby, he fell ill with silicosis, but survived, like few other convicts.

After the '90s, he initially spent several years in the police force, even being injured by several gunshots while performing his duties. From 1994, he first served as an assistant judge, then as a judge, until March 2023, when, unlike others, he did not stay in the chair until he turned 67.

On that occasion, he did me the honor of giving me his platoon, representing nearly 30 years of judicial career!

When I started my duties in July 2019, at the Kurbin Judicial District Court, he was the head of the court in the position of deputy president. He welcomed me very well, effectively guaranteeing me independence and the opportunity to influence the improvement of the image of the court, together with my colleagues and the administration.

Among the many positive qualities he had were his open mind in professional terms, being (as he said) "a human being before a judge", the ability to get to know people, and especially his will and resilience.
