A suspected perpetrator who set fire to a piece of land with vegetation in the village of Tragjas , is arrested in the act, who is also suspected of being the author of another case of arson in the village of Dukat. 

During the physical check, an automatic firearm with a cartridge in the magazine was found and seized from this citizen. 

Two other citizens are being prosecuted for arson in the villages of Kaninë and Zvërnec.

Following the investigative work to identify and bring to the fore the legal responsibility of the perpetrators of intentional or negligent arson, the specialists for the investigation of crimes at the Orikum Police Station arrested the NS citizen red-handed, after he was caught red-handed by the Police services, in the village Tragjas, lighting a fire on an area of ​​land with vegetation.     

During the physical check on this citizen, the Police services found and confiscated an automatic firearm, with a cartridge in the magazine.

Also, from the investigations, it is suspected that the NS citizen is also the suspected author of another case of arson, on 15.09.2022, in the village of Dukat, where a significant area of ​​land with wild vegetation and an area of ​​land with olive trees were burned.

The crime investigation specialists of the Vlora Police Station referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office and started the criminal proceedings in a free state, for the criminal offense "Destruction of property by fire", for the citizens:

- EB, after clearing wild plants in his olive grove, by burning it with fire, it is suspected that the fire accidentally got out of control and as a result, a significant area of ​​vegetation was burned in the village of Kaninë;  

-MB, after working with the troco, due to the sparks, some plants were burned and as a result of the spread of the flames, an area of ​​land with vegetation and olive trees was burned.     

The materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.

The Local Directorate of the Vlora Police appeals to all residents not to cause arson under any circumstances, because they will face the law. The police invite citizens to report to the number 112 and to the Digital Commissariat, any case of arson or illegality as a whole, guaranteeing anonymity and a quick and impartial response from the police structures.

The materials were handed over to the Prosecutor's Office for further procedural actions,"  the police announcement states.
