37-year-old Enkel Kërtalli was extradited from Spain to Albania. He was in prison in Spain after, together with his brother Morel Kërtalli, they attempted to commit a murder against Dashamir Gjokë in 2017.
At that time, the two brothers fired a barrage of bullets at Dashamir Gjoka's car, whose vehicle was armored and none of the bullets penetrated the interior.
The car was driven by Dashmair Gjoka himself, while inside it were also his 3 minor daughters. After shooting with a machine gun, the two brothers quickly left using a "Benz" type car.
"I was traveling towards Shijak, when I heard the bullets coming from a car parallel to me. The girls and I were terrified when we heard the shots. I gave gas to the car so that no more bullets would catch me and I went straight to the police station. I don't know who assassinated me. The great luck that we were saved, as the car was armored", stated Dashamir Gjoka in the testimony he gave to the Police.
Who is Dashamir Gjoka?
Dashamir Gjoka is a well-known name in Albanian justice, as a money laundering case is open against him. A property investigation was launched against him, following suspicions that Gjoka had created assets based on the income generated from the criminal activity he carried out in Italy.
Based on the documentation provided by the Prosecution for Serious Crimes, it appears that by the decision of the Court of Appeal of Milan, Italy, dated 2 years ago, Gjoka was handcuffed after a request from the Italian side for his extradition. We recall that the capture of the two brothers became possible after 5 years on the run. The brothers were arrested in Spain.
