Convicted of murder in 1997, 52-year-old dies in Fier prison

A convict passed away this Tuesday at the Institution for the Execution of Criminal Decisions in Fier.

Sources indicate that the victim is 52-year-old Artur Doku, a resident of Burrel, who was serving a sentence for a murder committed in 1997. He had 9 years and 5 months left to serve his sentence.

According to preliminary information, the 52-year-old had heart problems and is suspected to have died of natural causes. After his health deteriorated, he was transported to the Fier Regional Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

The body was then taken to the morgue for forensic procedures, while authorities have initiated procedural actions to fully document the event.

Preliminary data suggests no criminal circumstances, while forensic expertise is expected to officially determine the cause of death./top channel
