The file against the former mayor of Himara, Jorgo Goro, went to trial this Friday, after the request made two months ago by the Special Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office.
Jorgo Goro asked for a shortened trial, while the court will rule on his request at the next hearing.
The Special Prosecutor's Office accuses Jorgo Goro of "abuse of duty" committed in two cases, at the time when the latter was the mayor of Himara Municipality.
Goro was arrested in March of this year, after the report filed by Fredi Beleri, who left the cell a few months ago.
For the same case, the former head of the Vlora Cadastre, Bilbil Aliaj, who is under the security measure of "compulsion to appear", as well as the former lawyer Vezir Gjikoka, who has the measure of "house arrest", will also be tried.
