The Special Court sentences the former mayor of Finiq, Leonidha Hristo, to 4 years in prison.

The sentence was reduced to 2 years due to the summary trial.

Hristo was found guilty this Tuesday by the Criminal Court of Kosovo of the criminal offense of "abuse of office", for abusing tenders worth 77 million lek.

The Special Prosecution Office found evidence, as well as testimony, wiretaps and documentation that prove that several fictitious procurement procedures were carried out in the Municipality of Finiqi during the period 2017-2019, which, according to the prosecution, the documentation was fabricated after the predetermined winners had been announced.

Hristo was also a candidate for mayor in the 2023 local elections, with the 'Together We Win' coalition. Other former municipal officials, Florian Perin, Stavri Çavo, Lefter Karjanin and Lefteria Mekshin, are being tried in Saranda, after the GJKKO declared them incompetent.
