Mariglen Gjonaja's life was taken at the age of 16, the day she went on an excursion with her classmates. Like any teenager, in an effort to 'grow up', Marigleni took a "Rolex" watch, a thick gold pendant and set off to meet his friends in his brother's car.

Even though he was a minor and did not have a driver's license, Gjonaj was at the wheel of the vehicle, while his fellow villager, Kristjan Cenaj, was a passenger. But the latter did not intend to accompany the teenager on the excursion.

The intention of the young man, 23 years old at that time, was clear, the robbery of the 'Rolex' and the gold pendant that Mariglen Gjonaj wore around her neck, worth 10 million Lek.

The road was cut in the Red Field

'How expensive this pendant looks,' were the first words spoken by Cenaj in the eyes of Gjonaj's uncle, clearly showing his friend's attraction to the jewels that weighed down the 16-year-old's neck.

What exactly happened between Cenaj and the 16-year-old is still unclear, but the fight that resulted in Gjonaj's death left its mark on Fushë Kuqe. Kristjan Cenaj brutally assaulted the minor and damaged his skull, which caused the minor's death. To cover up the murder, the author buried Gjonaj's body in Fushë Kuqe. The minor rested very close to his family, but the latter could not say goodbye...

But a mother's heart does not lie

Liljana Gjonaj, even without seeing her dead son, was clear that Kristjan Cenaj was hiding behind everything that could have happened to him. She declared 7 years ago to the media that her son was with Cenaj for the last time and that he had to be interrogated to find out the fate of her little son.

"He left in the morning, he left at 8, he didn't come to me at 5 in the evening, not even at lunch. It was with two people who were in the car last time. 

The last person she was with is Kristjan Ceni from this village. If those people have taken him hostage, release him. Let them take the gold, we will forgive them everything, as long as my son gets into the house once and for all with his own feet," said Liljana.

There is no perfect crime

Shtatë vite më vonë, në prill të vitit 2022, lajmi se ishin gjetur eshtrat e një adoleshenti u publikua nga të gjitha mediat e ra dhe në veshin e nënës e familjes së Gjonajt. Shpresat i kishin humbur se do ta gjenin gjallë adoleshentin, por të paktën kërkonin të kishin një varr ku ta vizitonin herë pas here.

“Mos janë të djalit tim? Kam dëgjuar lajme që është gjetur një kufomë. Shpirti po më dhemb. Nëqoftëse merr vesh dicka a mos është djali im?’’- tha Liljana me zë të dridhur gjatë një bisede telefonike me gazetaren Anila Hoxha.

Analizat e dhe ekspertizat mjekoligjore zbuluan se bëhej fjalë për një djalë të mitur që ishte dhunuar për vdekje, por për zbardhjen e identitetit u deshën muaj të tërë. Pas 7 vitesh ngjarje, policia arriti të konfirmojë dhe provojë se 16-vjeçari Mariglen Gjonaj. Në të njëjtën kohë, Policia e Lezhës doli me deklaratën se përveç identifikimit, ishte bërë e mundur dhe arrestimi i autorit të këtij krimi, që i mori jetën një fëmije për një orë ‘Rolex’ dhe një varëse floriri.
