Strange story: The prosecution is seeking two months in prison for the beggar in

Ylli Berisha, a beggar for 17 years, is suspected of breaking the law and the crime he committed is begging.

The prosecution stated during the day that he should be found guilty after 2 years ago he resisted the police, who ordered him not to beg at Pharmacy 10 and for this reason he was escorted to the police station.

But the 46-year-old was not convinced and after investigative actions he ended up as a defendant in court. The prosecution requested a two-month prison sentence for Berisha on the charge of disobeying the police, a sentence that was suggested to be converted into four months of probation.

"Innocence, because I haven't done anything. They caught me begging, I have nowhere to eat. I used to get a pension, but I don't get it anymore," Berisha told Top Channel.

Four law enforcement officers testified at the hearing, but Berisha does not believe them. Due to the defendant's financial inability, the state has assigned him a free lawyer, who says he is begging the court for mercy.

"We have called four police officers to question them about the danger to public order in Berisha. The officers said that he is obstructing the movement of cars."

"He was on the sidewalk and then forcibly escorted to police station number 4," said lawyer Shpëtim Kodhelaj.

Since the incident with the police, the 46-year-old is no longer begging in Tirana, but has moved to Fushë-Krujë.
