Italian lawyer at the center of the scandal: Suspected of being an intermediary

She is suspected of holding a stable role within an international criminal organization dedicated to drug trafficking.

This is the hypothesis of the Perugia prosecutor's office regarding criminal lawyer Daniela Paccoi , who was served with the notice of the end of the preliminary investigation.

The Perugia Prosecutor's Office accuses lawyer Daniela Paccoi of mediating with an Albanian clan.

According to the Prosecution, the lawyer is accused of acting as a strategic intermediary between an Albanian criminal organization and Gian Paolo Coresi, the owner of the restaurant in Foligno arrested last January with 65 kilograms of cocaine.

The prosecution alleges that the lawyer relayed messages between Albania and the prison, helping to coordinate communications and ensuring that the identities of collaborators remained hidden.

The lawyer, who is being investigated at large, is accused of conspiracy to traffic narcotics, inciting false statements, and drug trafficking.

The investigation, coordinated by Deputy Prosecutor Gennaro Iannarone, also involves two other individuals: an Albanian citizen, believed to be the courier and cashier of the organization in Italy, and the brother of the 48-year-old arrested from Foligno.

According to the reconstruction by TGR Umbria, based on investigations carried out by the Guardia di Finanza of Perugia - Economic and Financial Police Unit GICO, through telephone and environmental interceptions, including inside the Capanne prison, the lawyer is suspected of having transmitted messages and money from abroad to her detained client, while at the same time ensuring that she did not reveal the identity of the other members of the group.

Investigators also suspect a cover-up attempt: to simulate cooperation with the police, a fake drug operation is suspected to have been organized.

Two kilograms of drugs, smuggled from Albania, were allegedly hidden on family land in Casenove, Foligno.

The arrested man himself later showed investigators the hiding place, giving them a detailed map. Giampaolo Coresi will appear before a judge on May 7 for a summary trial.
