Gentian Gjyli was officially informed of the extension of the investigation by 3 months by the Special Prosecution Office.

Gjyli arrived at SPAK accompanied by his defense lawyer. SPAK extended the investigation deadlines for the Llogara Tunnel case, where Gjyli is a defendant along with former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, Erald Elezin and 2 others.

During the time the Llogara Tunnel tender was held, Gjyli was the Director of Construction and Maintenance at the Albanian Road Authority. He is currently under house arrest accused of violating equality in tenders.

SPAK has justified the extension of investigation deadlines with the complexity of the investigations and the high number of examinations and expertises, which take time.
