The appeal of the Special Court of Appeals (GJKKO) has upheld the decision of the Special Court (GJKKO) for the prison sentence for former socialist MP Jurgis Çyrbja, Ahmet Masha and Altin Hajri.
The former MP was sentenced by the Criminal Court of Kosovo to 3 years in prison, a sentence that was reduced to 2 years due to a summary trial, for electoral corruption, supporting crime figures and leaking state secrets, a sentence that he has served.
The GJKKO also sentenced Altin Hajri, a suspected organized crime figure, to 3 years in prison, while the other defendant, Ahmet Masha, was sentenced to 2.6 years in prison. On appeal, Jurgis Cyrbja requested the verdict to be overturned and a retrial.
Altin Hajri had requested acquittal or retrial of the criminal offense from corruption to unlawful influence, while Ahmet Masha requested acquittal.
