Holta Zaçaj's mandate ends on March 10, 2025. The decision was made by a meeting of the members of the Constitutional Court.
Holta Zaçaj was not present at the meeting of the members of the Constitutional Court.
But it seems that the members of the Constitutional Court have agreed on the date when the Supreme Court announced the vacancy, namely March 10, 2025. Zaçaj claimed that on this date the mandate of member Vitore Tusha, whom the acting President of the Constitutional Court replaced, had ended.
In public statements, Zaçaj argued that the date March 10, 2017, which refers to the date on which Judge Vitore Tusha completed her term of office, is not determinative of the termination of her term of office.
"Since neither the constitutional provision, nor the decision of the Supreme Court for the election of the constitutional judge, has a specific date for the completion of this task, based on the general legal rules for calculating terms, the end of 2025 should be considered the end of the term of office. The date of March 10, 2017, which refers to the date on which Judge Vitore Tusha completed her term, is not decisive for the completion of the term of office of Ms. Holta Zaçaj as the next judge," Zaçaj's official announcement said a few days ago.
