Two tourists who were lost in the Polis mountains in Librazhd have been found

Police have announced that the two tourists who went missing today in the Polis mountains in Librazhd have been found.

After receiving the notification that two German tourists were missing, the Librazhd Police Station officers were immediately put into action. 

Police services were involved in the operation, using a drone, as well as forest service employees and local structures.

After 15 hours of searching, the 2 tourists were located in the village of Gaferr, Stravaj Administrative Unit, Prrenjas Municipality, in good health.

Police announcement:

Lost contact while exploring the mountainous area of ??Polis ?????, Police services came to the aid of 2 tourists from Germany.

After receiving notification of the loss of GPS contact with 2 German tourists while exploring the mountainous area of ??Polis, the Librazhd Police Commissariat services immediately organized a search and rescue operation to locate them.

Police services were involved in the operation, using a drone, as well as forest service employees and local structures, who continued intensive field searches.

After 15 hours of searching, the 2 tourists were located in the village of Gaferr, Stravaj Administrative Unit, Prrenjas Municipality, in good health.

The verifications carried out revealed that the tourists had lost their orientation while moving in the mountainous area and had been unable to communicate due to the lack of telephone signal coverage.

The tourists thanked the Police officers and all the structures involved for their readiness, professionalism and assistance provided.

The Elbasan Local Police Directorate remains maximally committed to guaranteeing the safety of tourists and visitors who choose to explore the tourist and mountainous areas of the region.
