The Italian newspaper " La Stampa " has written an article about the camps in Shengjin and Gjadër, which are expected to be opened at the end of September to receive the immigrants caught in the Mediterranean by the Italian authorities.

The main problem related to these camps, according to the newspaper, is the sewage system, so until the problem is fixed, it is planned that everything will flow into the Drin River.

"At the moment, it has been decided that everything will be thrown into the river Drin, according to information. The first migrants can arrive here from September 10 until the end of the month. The authorities are rushing to get them there," the article reads.

The mayor of Gjadri, Aleksandër Preka, spoke to the newspaper and said: "We had three thousand inhabitants during communism, we have 600 left. But now all these new people are coming."

He has shown that for the Italian staff, the rents of the apartments from the residents of the area have also increased.

"These houses are rented for an amount of 30-50 euros per month, your staff received 400 euros per month for two years", says Aleksandër Preka.

According to La Stampa, the Gjadri center is now ready.

The Port of Shengjin is the first stop for immigrants who headed for Italy and were deported to Albania, after the agreement between the Italian and Albanian governments.

Then, after identification procedures, they will be loaded on buses and sent to Gjadër.

The newspaper lists some problems besides sewage, which are:

- The Gjadër administrative detention center was built in the air.

- The land was unsuitable. There were no foundations.

- There was no electrical system, no water.

According to the newspaper, this is also the reason for the delays, as it adds that they were testing the Internet connection, which will be essential to remotely manage thousands of cases for thousands of lives awaiting trial.

The camp will have 1150 places for detention and 24 for a small internal prison.

800,000 euros have been spent on the construction of the two structures so far.

All works are authorized by special procedures.

The materials were purchased by the Italian government from companies in Trento, Colaziocorte and Carimate. They are parts for building containers that are generally used by those displaced by earthquakes or other disasters.
