The 16-year-old Albanian, Gabriel Alibeaj, who fell from the car, hitting his head, has passed away. The boy's condition appeared critical to the rescue teams, who immediately transported him to the Cisanello hospital in Pisa.
"Gabriel did not succeed. He fought like a lion, supported by his family and the prayers of his friends, but he did not wake up, he passed away yesterday afternoon" - write the Italian media.
The news of the death was given by the football team in which he played, Lunigiana Pontremolese 1919, which in a post on Facebook expressed the deepest pain for what happened.
Gabriel would play in the regional under-17 team as "one of the reference stars". The club also suspended all training in mourning.
"I thank you all for your prayers, now we pray for his soul," Gabriel's father wrote.
"We are full of pain and speechless," said Mayor Filippo Bellesi in shock.
