Journalist Blendi Fevziu has stated that Albania did not have relations with Iran until the mujahedin took refuge in our country. According to the journalist, relations with Iran were strained precisely because of the shelter of the Mujahideen.
"Relations between Albania and Iran have been problematic, this for a long period of time due to the decision of mujahedin in Albania. They are located in Manza, Durrës. Albania-Iran relations have been zero until the moment when the Mujahideen left Iraq together with the USA and a part of them settled in Albania. This is where the tension and conflict with Iran arose", said the journalist in EuroNews Albania
Fevziu further stated that the Albanian government's decision to expel Iranian diplomats was necessary.
"We have had several attempts by Iran declared, denounced by the secret services, to commit terror in Albania. Albania's solution, Albania's decision was necessary. An embassy of Iran with such a large staff in Tirana was an operational base for the intelligence services that harmed the security of Albania", said Fevziu.
According to Fevzi, Albania has not had relations with Iran, but the situation changed after the arrival of the Mujahideen in our country. He said that regardless of the Albanian government's decision to leave the diplomatic staff, the mujahedin should not leave.
"Albania's relations with Iran have been zero. We have not had any kind of report. The Mujahideen came mainly to Albania, where there is constant political activity against Iran. This is where the conflict between Albania and Iran started. Iran has not dared to undertake assassinations or terrorist acts against NATO member countries.
We cannot drive away the Mujahideen because we have decided to accept them and take them to Albania. It is a decision of solidarity and in a relationship of partnership with the United States of America. When you are in NATO, you have certain obligations, of course, their activity must be controlled", he emphasized.
Prime Minister Edi Rama requested a day ago that the diplomatic staff of the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran leave Albania within 24 hours.
During a speech published on social networks, Rama declared that this decision of the Council of Ministers comes after it was discovered that the Islamic Republic of Iran is behind the July 15 cyber attack.
