
A 55-year-old man has been arrested at the Port of Durres after attempting to smuggle 1,000 shotgun cartridges and around 20,000 euros undeclared into Albania.
Blue uniforms indicate that citizen Kujtim Aliaj , a resident of Tirana, has been arrested and is accused of the criminal offenses of "Trafficking in weapons and ammunition" and "Failure to declare money and valuables at the border" .

He attempted to bring 1,000 shotgun shells and around 20,000 euros into the territory of the Republic of Albania without declaring them. He was caught red-handed by the Border Police and the 55-year-old was arrested.
The cartridges, the amount of euros, and the truck where they were hidden were seized.
The Border Police Services at the Port of Durres, as a result of increased controls at entry/exit, with the aim of identifying and cracking down on illegalities, based on information obtained in operational channels, identified and cracked down on a case of attempted trafficking of combat ammunition and a case of failure to declare money at the border.
As a result, citizen KA, 55 years old, resident of Tirana, was arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offenses of "Trafficking in weapons and ammunition" and "Failure to declare money and valuables at the border".
During the search of this citizen's truck, Border Police services found 1,000 hunting cartridges, a shotgun, and around 20,000 euros hidden in the cabin, which were seized in the evidence room, along with the truck, passport, and cell phone of the 55-year-old.
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for further action.
