A mob execution took place on Thursday, October 12 in one of the most exclusive neighborhoods of Guayaquil.

The victim is George Samir Maestre Mena, alias 'Samir' or 'El Gordo', one of the main leaders of the main drug traffic in the Latin American country.

'Samir', who left the criminal group Los Choneros, led the gang known as "Mafia-18", which was in a territorial conflict with Los Lagartos for control of the south of the city.

According to the media in Ecuador, his killing could cause a disruption in the drug market in the city and in the country, because he was a very strong figure in the drug trafficking business.
