Joana Qyli, part of the staff of the Albanian consulate in Thessaloniki, passed away at a young age.

The sad news was announced by the Consulate General of the Republic of Albania in Thessaloniki, in a post on Facebook.

"Sad beyond pain to see these eyes full of life fade away. Joana Qyli has embodied the kindness and inspiration of a girl full of love for life, her family and friends. As part of the Consulate staff in a not-so-short period, Joana gained the respect and warmth of her colleagues and the citizens she served so correctly. Although in a short journey through life, she managed to build it beautifully, with the colors of hope and the strength to overcome pain. My deepest condolences to the family and loved ones for this unspeakable loss. May Joana Qyli rest in heaven," the post reads.

The Speaker of the Parliament, Niko Peleshi, has also reacted to the death, expressing his condolences for the untimely passing of the daughter of his friend, Thoma Qyli.

"Joana, the daughter of my friend Thoma Qyli, passed away at an age where everything should have begun. A good girl, with a pure soul, talented, thirsty for knowledge, full of light and life. There are no words that can comfort a parent for the loss of a child, but thoughts and prayers are with the Qyli family in this immense pain. May Joana rest in peace, and may her memory be a light forever," Peleshi writes.
