The Criminal Court in Tirana decided on October 9th to sentence the perpetrator of the murder of Judge Astrit Kalaja, Elvis Shkambi, and two other people to "prison arrest."

Asked in her capacity as a person with knowledge of the circumstances, the judicial secretary at the Appeals Court stated that the late judge called for the opening of the court session to announce the verdict, around 15:35-15:40 of that day.

"He called all the parties to the process with a microphone, and only four people appeared, the plaintiff Ragip Kurtaj, and a person who introduced himself as his son, as well as two people from the defendant, Gjon Shkambi and his nephew, Elvis Shkambi, who accompanied him. The parties sat down and the judge opened the court session. Initially, the judge asked the plaintiff who he was and asked him to hand over his ID card. His son intervened, but the judge told him that he was a listener and the gentleman could speak for himself. Immediately after this, the judge announced the decision in which he expressed the upholding of the decision of the Court of First Instance, he also cited the deadlines for recourse to the High Court and then declared the session closed ," the official decision states, based on the secretary's testimony.

Upon the announcement of the decision, the plaintiff and his son left room no. 3.

At this moment, Judge Kalaja stood up to go to the Counseling Room. Elvis Shkambi approached the judge's podium and fired a pistol.

As the secretary told investigators, in that shocking moment, she stood up and placed her hands on her chest. The 30-year-old told her that "there's nothing wrong with him" and turned back, firing a gun at the judge.

"After shooting the judge the second time, she sat under the table and heard the judge groaning, and at that moment she heard a court employee approach, who was the courtroom guard, but not their courtroom, and ask "what happened". She stood up and said that they had killed the judge and saw the judge lying down and went out into the hallway and shouted "call an ambulance", while a court employee approached and together they entered the consultation room. This employee went and got a towel and came back where they used that towel to press the judge's wound", the letter further states.

Pikërisht nëpunësi gjyqësor që ka shkuar i pari në sallë për të parë se ç’kishte ndodhur, është personi të cilit Shkambi i ka dorëzuar armën e krimit.

Në atë moment, ai e ka futur armën në xhep dhe ka tentuar të kërkojë ndihmë. Me mbërritjen e tyre, forcat “Shqiponja” kanë tentuar ta prangosin, por ai u ka thënë se është punonjës i gjykatës dhe u ka treguar armën që i kishte dorëzuar vrasësi i gjyqtarit.

Në shkresë përmendet edhe automjeti tip “Mercedez Benz” i xhaxhai të autorit, Gjon Shkambi, që ishte parkuar te Xhamia e Namazgjasë. Në të, policia ka gjetur 31 fishekë, në dukje fishekë manovër, të kalibrit 9 mm. Sende të paligjshme janë gjetur edhe në banesën e autorit në Shkodër.

Armën e kishte prej 10 vitesh, e shkrepi atë ditë për herë të parë

Ndërkohë i pyetur nga hetuesit, 30 vjeçari ka pranuar çdo veprim që ka kryer me detaje, por ka hedhur poshtë teorinë e bashkëpunimit me xhaxhain e tij, të cilin po e ndihmonte dhe asistonte në këto procese gjyqësore prej 1 viti e 8 muajsh.

Ajo që është e çuditshme në gjithë dinamikën, është fakti se Elvisi me xhaxhain e tij, nuk kanë shkëmbyer asnjë fjalë, shikim apo provokim me palën tjetër me të cilin ishin në proces, pra babë e bir që në fund mbetën të plagosur.

Autori ka thënë se në momentin e shpalljes së vendimit, është tronditur dhe se nuk e duroi më padrejtësinë pas zvarritjes së këtij gjyqi.

Kështu, ka nxjerrë armën nga brezi, të cilën e posedonte prej 10 vitesh pa leje, por që s’e kishte përdorur asnjëherë. Megjithatë e kishte pasur me vetë në çdo seancë gjyqësore dhe në çdo institucion ku kishte shkuar për të kërkuar të drejtën e tij.

“Nuk doja të përfundonte kështu”

“Mbaj mend që kam qëlluar edhe një herë në drejtim të gjyqtarit dhe mesa kujtoj e kam drejtuar armën në drejtim të derës në mënyrë të pavetëdijshme, edhe një herë në drejtim të derës së sallës”, ka rrëfyer i riu, duke thënë se babë e bir i ka plagosur pa dashur, pasi me ta nuk kishte asnjë lloj problemi.

“Nuk kam dashur të qëlloj në drejtim të Ragip Kurtajt dhe djalit të tij, pasi me ta nuk kisha asnjë lloj problemi. Mund t’i kisha vrarë edhe në Shkodër ata, po të doja. Më pas jam afruar te gjyqtari për ta parë dhe mbaj mend që ai ishte i shtrirë në dyshemenë e sallës. Ishte gjallë dhe i vetëdijshëm. Kur po e shikoja gjyqtarin, pranë tij ishte sekretarja gjyqësore, e cila i ka thënë disa herë “të lutem, të lutem”, e frikësuar, dhe i kam thënë asaj të qetësohej, sepse nuk kishte punë me të”.

Pasi ka dorëzuar armën dhe ka dalë në oborrin e Gjykatës, bashkë me xhaxhain, i ka dhënë çelësat e makinës dhe sipas tij, në atë moment i ka thënë se “e vrau gjyqtarin”.

Xhaxhai i tij, i shokuar, i ka thënë “na fike”.
