Xhemal Loka appeared this Monday in front of the Durrës court to familiarize himself with the security measure.

He was arrested after the suicide of his 41-year-old wife, Bedrie Loka , in the first days of the year. The prosecution accuses the 45-year-old of causing suicide, but also of possessing weapons without a permit.

He denies the accusations and claims that his wife committed suicide due to bullying on TikTok.  

The prosecutor of the case said that Pandeli Bushi, the victim's brother, stated that his sister was raped and drank poison because of a bad relationship.

Just like the other brothers, who have also stated that the couple did not have a normal relationship and the woman was abused physically and psychologically. Likewise, according to the prosecutor, one of the children stated that the parents had always had arguments.

"Dad told him that I will make you kill yourself", one of them is said to have said to the investigators.

The couple's daughter has stated that since a year they have not had a good relationship and often said that she will end her life as she felt tired of everything. 

"Dad prevented mom from going to her relatives, insulting her," the girl confessed.

Two minors have also testified about violence. Therefore, the prosecutor reasoned in the courtroom that this incident was caused by the husband's behavior. He also stated that threatening video and audio were found on Xhemal's cell phone.

On the other hand, the 45-year-old's lawyer has stated that they do not agree to prison terms, as the only evidence according to him are the statements of the victim's relatives and family members.

"Xhemal Loka lived 90 percent of the time abroad. Bedrija himself traveled to Greece to be closer to his family. Family debates were also due to social class. If there was violence, a report would have been filed, but no such case has been filed. That's why we ask the court for a relief measure such as the "obligation to appear". When the deceased was mentioned in the hospital, she apologized to her eldest daughter and her husband for her actions. Her emotional state came only after opening the address on TikTok", the defense lawyer is said to have said.

Xhemal Loka himself claimed in the courtroom that he also received threats on the phone. "We had arguments, but I never violated him", said the 45-year-old, who also confessed about what happened the night before the serious incident.  

"I agree with the lawyer, but not with the prosecutor. Mahmut has knowledge of the situation with my daughter-in-law. I received threats and messages on the phone. I told the bride not to worry about the photo, because they can take one for me too. When they took out the second photo of the bride, they told her that we are not done yet. I have also been called on the phone by people I don't know, insulting the bride. We had arguments, but I never violated the bride. When he was mentioned in the hospital, I told him why he did this, he said I was very upset. The night before I discussed with the bride that I will leave for Greece. I will make a power of attorney for the children so that you can take them. Wherever you go shopping or somewhere else, hang out with a child not only, as long as your photos are on TikTok, so that no one talks. After that she got angry and in the morning what happened," Xhemal Loka is said to have said.

At the end of the session, the court accepted the request of the prosecutor, assigning a prison sentence for the 45-year-old.
