Journalist Anila Hoxha narrated in "Top Story" the story of a person who asked to be released because he had to take care of the children.
Due to the impossibility of leaving the children in someone's custody, because his wife had passed away, he requested this from the Albanian justice system, but that was not accepted.
Hoxha went on to say that the opposite happens with an official, who does not go to prison under the justification that they have to take care of the children.
"Albanian justice is harsh with ordinary people, who have no support. A person some time ago asked to be taken home because he had children to take care of, but they did not allow him. His wife had died and he wanted to go home. The crime he had committed was not serious.
He stated that he had no one to take care of the children. But since he was a simple man, he was not allowed to go home. This did not interest them and was punished. Meanwhile, on the other hand, there were cases when officials were allowed to go home because they had to take care of the children. That's it," she said.
