The police issued an official statement on the arrest of 36-year-old Antonio Leka, who was caught in Lezhë with ammunition and was headed to Tirana to commit murder.

According to the authorities, in his vehicle were found 1 pistol with 5 magazines, 1 automatic with 5 magazines, 550 cartridges for the pistol and the automatic, 1 pair of binoculars, 1 military bulletproof vest, 1 knife, 1 military bag, 75 grams of material and suspected narcotics cannabis and camouflage clothes. 

He is accused of the criminal offenses "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", "Manufacture and sale of narcotics", "Unauthorized production, possession, purchase or sale of cold weapons" and "Preparation of conditions for murder".

Even the police confirm that it was the brother of the 36-year-old, who alerted the authorities in order to prevent the serious crime. It is known that before the blue uniforms, he testified: "...I will kill the politicians of Lezha, and eradicate their bad seed...".

Antonio Leka was previously arrested for drugs, as he is the son of an army officer, Vat Leka.

An arsenal of weapons, military ammunition, binoculars, bulletproof vests, helmets, knives, narcotics, military camouflage clothing and other items are seized.

The 36-year-old man who kept them in the vehicle while driving in the city of Lezha was arrested in the act.

The investigative structures of the Lezhë Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with the services of the Special Force "Shqiponja", based on the information provided by the police intelligence and by the family members of a 36-year-old man who was driving around the city of Lezhë, with a vehicle in who was carrying firearms of various types, with which he had warned that he would commit a serious crime, have organized the coded police operation "Lavazhi" engaging numerous police services.

In the framework of this operation, the citizen was caught and arrested red-handed:

- A. L. 36 vjeç, për veprat penale "Mbajtja pa leje dhe prodhimi i armëve, armëve shpërthyese dhe i municionit", "Prodhimi dhe shitja e lëndëve narkotike", "Prodhimi, mbajtja, blerja apo shitja pa leje e armëve të ftohta" dhe “Përgatitja e kushteve për vrasje”.

Gjatë kontrollit të ushtruar në automjetin e tij, shërbimet e Policisë gjetën dhe sekuestruan në cilësinë e provës materiale: 1 armë zjarri pistoletë me 5 karikatorë, 1 automatik me 5 karikatorë, 550 fishekë luftarakë për pistoletën dhe automatikun, 1 palë dylbi, 1 antiplumb ushtarak, 1 thikë, 1 çantë ushtarake, 75 gramë lëndë e dyshuar narkotike kanabis dhe rroba kamuflazhi.

Për shkak të sekretit hetimor, duke qenë se ngjarja është në hetim, nuk jepen detaje të tjera në lidhje me motivet dhe objektivin e synuar nga i arrestuari.
