The Minister of Justice of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, said that Faton Hajrizi cannot be called a hero as he has committed serious criminal offences.
Haxhiu confirmed that a new autopsy will be reviewed for the escapee from a Kosovo prison who was killed by Serbia on the claim that he shot a Serbian policeman to death.
"For me, it is disturbing, or should I say, it is disturbing the discourse and the values ??that are being tried to be lost as a society. A person who has committed serious crimes, who has injured the Kosovo police, who has been convicted of serious criminal acts, cannot be called a hero. After the reaction and approach I had, I received threats from different individuals. To avoid any situation we have without having a protective measure. Perhaps the re-autopsy of Faton Hajrizi's body can be considered. Yesterday it was said that the traces match the persons, but of course we need the most important information."
The Minister of Justice in Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, made the statements after being summoned for the second day in a row by the Special Prosecutor's Office.
She confirmed that she was asked about her statements about the recent escapes from Kosovo prisons, as well as the clarification of her statement regarding possible meetings and discussions with prosecutors and judges for certain cases.
Haxhiu accused the prosecutor's office of trying to obstruct justice reform and of not dealing with serious issues such as the attack in Banjska or the one in Ujman. The minister added that she can be summoned by the prosecution even as a suspect.
"I am surprised by the fact that the Prosecutor's Office wakes up after my reaction on the Facebook social network because it has to be constantly vigilant about Serbia's tendencies to destabilize Kosovo and the region. Also, continuous terrorist attacks such as the case of Basnjka and the attack in Ujman. It seems that the Special Prosecutor's Office is trying to hinder me in my work, in which case you have continuously seen that in every statement I have given, they have immediately authorized the police to take my statement. This situation could have ended differently. I am the Minister of Justice, after the reaction it was right to invite me within the framework of institutional cooperation. But their efforts with the authorization of the police as a witness to be interviewed show a lot about their approach and motives. It is surprising and shocking that one of the questions that was put to me today: 'What did you think about the influence of Serbia in the prisons of Kosovo'. Please log in and see if I mentioned Serbia's influence on Kosovo's prisons. This does not hold. This is slander and gossip. I have never said that Serbia has influence on the prisons of Kosovo. This was said by the PDK and some analysts who deliberately deceived the public".
