"They would sell it for 50 thousand euros", robbers in Athens kidnap

A serious event took place in Athens where a group of two people kidnapped an 8-month-old baby from the arms of his Albanian mother to then sell him for 50,000 euros.

But two Athens municipal police officers were able to stop the robbers at the last moment when they were negotiating the sale of the boy outside the Aegaleo subway.

"There was no other thought than to take him in my arms and protect him, feed him, give him water, change him," said the municipal police officer, who together with her colleague managed to prevent the serious incident, speaking of StarTV.

" When we started the investigative questions, I heard one of them say to the other: I told you that we would get confused !", said the municipal policeman.

The tragic story begins in the palace on Spyrou Patsi street, with the two men visiting the 31-year-old mother originally from Albania.

" This short gentleman got into a taxi and there was another man in a blue shirt waiting for him, something they said here made me curious because he was very thin with an ugly face, " said a shop owner who was witness to the incident.

The two men then took the baby by taxi to a metro station outside the town hall in Aegaleo. There, according to information, they would have a meeting with a woman, who, when she saw the municipal police, disappeared.

"He held the child strangely, with his feet up, his head down, in the sun. We asked them if it was theirs, they told us no", described the municipal police officer.

The police arrested the two people, who initially said: " We took the child from the mother in order to sell it for 50,000 euros ". But then they changed course and said they didn't want to sell the baby but just take him for walks.
