One day after the serious incident in the village of Rrêmbec in Maliqi, the chronology of the crime has been clarified, which in the background carries banal reasons.

A fight over dogs has caused a rekindling of old feuds between two neighbours, who had their kennels next door. The victim Nesti Sotiri was returning together with the herd of cattle from the pastures to the stables, which are very close to the house.

When he was only 50 m away from the apartment, Velo Hazisllari's dogs started towards his flock.

The reaction of the victim was immediate, and in order to defend himself, he hit the author's dogs with a stick. That was enough to renew the fight between them with fists and hard objects like sticks.

During the quarrel, the suspected perpetrator Velo Hazisllari took out a knife, which he had with him, hitting the 60-year-old man once in the lower abdomen. The blow was fatal for Sotir, who lost large amounts of blood during the transport to the hospital. It is known that the stabbing has affected the 60-year-old man's main artery, causing him to lose his life.

The dog fight was the epilogue of a years-long conflict between the perpetrator and the victim. Despite being neighbors, they didn't talk to each other for a long time, and the reason for this was the division of a warehouse that would be used during these years by both of them for cattle stables.

There were also constant quarrels between the victim and Hazisllari over the pastures of the animals.

As a result of the fight between the two men, the suspected perpetrator ended up in the hospital. Velo Hazisllari received numerous injuries and is hospitalized in Korça Hospital, from where he was arrested. The cause of the wounds were blows with sticks. Both the perpetrator and the victim shot each other with the sticks they were carrying for cattle.

The serious event was recorded in the late hours of Monday in the village of Rrêmbec in Maliqi. The police considered the incident for weak motives.

"On 08.08.2022, around 9:40 p.m., we were informed that in the village of Rëmbec, Maliq, during a conflict for weak motives, a citizen NS was injured with a cutting tool (knife), who after arriving at Korça Hospital , passed away.
