Three days after the knife wound, the mayor of the Municipality of Divjaka, Fredi Kokoneshi, explained to the investigators how the incident happened at the entrance of the institution he has been running since 2019.

While he is hospitalized near the Trauma Hospital in the capital, Kokoneshi has stated that the dismissal of the suspected author of the event, Orgest Xhelili, is the reason for the ongoing conflicts between them.

Both Kokoneshi and his driver stated that everything happened at the moment when the mayor was going as usual to his office in the Municipality institution.

In these moments, Xhelili appeared in front of the head of the Municipality, cursing and insulting him for leaving his job. After this moment, he shot him with a knife.

It was the driver's intervention that made it possible for Kokoneshi to escape further stabbings. Both Kokoneshi and his driver, Gazmend Bullari, are in the hospital out of danger. Bullari is in the intensive care unit of the Lushnja Hospital and it is learned that he is out of danger, while he was seriously injured by the stab wounds.

HOW THE CONFLICT STARTED

While in the area of ​​Divjaka, IT engineers are almost absent, for 1 and a half years, according to sources, the mayor had dismissed the 46-year-old from office. This had led to constant conflicts between him and Kokonesh, until it culminated on Friday morning with the stabbing of the head of the local institution. Throughout this time, there have been constant debates between them, while Kokoneshi is known to have promised the 46-year-old the return to duty.

The court of Lushnja is expected to grant the security measure to 46-year-old Orgest Xhelili this Tuesday. The hearing was scheduled for Monday, but it was postponed for today because there was no defense lawyer and a lawyer from the state will be appointed for him. It is known that Xhelili has accepted the authorship of the double wounding of the mayor and his driver.

Also, it is learned that Orgest Xhelili has stated that the dismissal from his job as an engineer in the Municipality of Divjaka was the starting point of the conflict.
