After Tirana, Elbasan has the highest values.

This pollution is mainly caused by vehicle emissions on roads with heavy traffic.

"Traffic management can make an important contribution to helping reduce pollutant emissions from vehicles, such as: schemes that ban or exclude less clean cars from certain roads or areas," the Agency's report said. National Environment.

Exposure to PM 10 dust particles can worsen respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, as well as increase mortality.

Industrial emissions also contribute significantly to air pollution in Albania.

One of the serious pollution problems in Elbasan is the dust caused by the metallurgical industry, the cement factory and from open deposits.

While in the area of ​​Fier there are serious problems caused by the current and former oil industry.
