Snowfall continues in the Dibër region, causing problems mainly in the remote mountainous areas. Frost and temperatures that have dropped below zero degrees have created difficulties on rural roads, where the presence of ice makes vehicle movement dangerous.
Problems are also reported on the Arbri Road, where there is snow and ice in some segments. Traffic difficulties are on the Fushë-Bulqizë axis, Maqellarë, as well as in the Xibër unit, near the Murriz tunnel, where vehicles are moving with increased caution.
The situation is more problematic in the administrative units of Lura, Kala e Dodës, Selishtë, Muhurr, Trebisht, Ostren, as well as in several remote villages of the Dibër district, where snowfall and ice have significantly made traffic difficult.
Authorities are urging drivers to exercise extra caution and use winter tires, especially in problem areas.
Meanwhile, heavy snowfall has caused numerous problems in the electricity supply in several areas of southeastern Albania.
According to data from the Korça Regional Dispatch Center, several feeders have been disconnected due to technical defects, leaving a significant number of subscribers without electricity, mainly in rural areas.
Problems have been identified in the Cërrvenakë feeder of the Gur i Kuq substation, which is disconnected due to a defect. Meanwhile, feeder 4 of the Lozhan substation is partially operational, leaving 55 rural subscribers in the Zerec, Kopesh, Dushar and Dobërcan areas without power.
Feeder 9 of the Lozhan substation is also without electricity, where about 400 rural subscribers in the Zvarisht, Tresovë and Dolan areas have been affected by the outage. Outages are also reported in the municipal feeder 3 of the Maliq substation, which supplies the Dardushë, Nicë and Sterkanj areas, with about 80 rural subscribers.
At the Leskovik substation, feeder JO6 has left the Gjyrakare, Postenan and Peshtan areas without power, affecting 4 rural subscribers. Similarly, at the Ersekë substation, feeder 3 has interrupted the power supply in the Kamnik, Piskal, Nedermarje, Shijan and Kaduc areas, affecting 50 rural subscribers.
A problematic situation also occurs in Vithkuq, where the Rehova substation feeder is partially without power, affecting about 250 subscribers in the Lekas area. The Tulla (Pasurim) municipal feeder at the Maliq substation, which supplies the Kolanec and Maliq Village areas, with about 300 rural subscribers, is also without power.
Also, due to technical defects, the feeder of the village of Rehova, the Potgozhan feeder of the Gur i Kuq substation (4 rural subscribers), as well as feeder 4 of the Mollas substation and feeder 4 of the Bilisht substation were disconnected.
In total, 1,143 subscribers (families) are currently without electricity in the Korça region and surrounding areas due to snowfall. In most areas, the electricity network is depreciated.
