Pensioners gathered again this Wednesday in front of the Prime Minister's Office to protest the increase in their pensions.

They complain that with current pensions they cannot even meet the minimum living conditions and are demanding an increase to have a decent life.

Pensioners say that the money we receive does not cover medical expenses for medicines or the purchase of basic food.

As for the bonus portion set by the government for the end of the year, they said it is a "big scam".

"I received a pension of 171 thousand old lek. It is insufficient for the prices that have gone to the stratosphere. But the prime minister has calculated it for a basket, like those pig baskets. We are not pigs. He tells us that if the contributions are not paid, you do not receive lek. He himself has a salary of 3 million lek. He himself steals the contribution by law.  The bonus is a big fraud, shame and evil of this prime minister. The bonus consists of the 36 million from last year's budget and another part from indexation. The party sheep are lying, not the others," a pensioner told News24.

Another pensioner accused the majority of making laws to steal from ordinary people.

"They do not receive pensions according to work and law, but according to the system. There is no justice or rule of law here. I receive 92 thousand lek in pension. This state has made the law to steal from ordinary people and has successfully implemented it because two articles have been made against article 79, which is the legal obligation to pay insurance. The responsible ministry has abused its duty and has made fraudulent schemes by telling citizens that you will pay, based on articles 9 and 13.

"Instead of laws, the 'Made in Edi Rama' computer system has been introduced and they are sucking the blood of this people, denying them jobs. They do not receive pensions according to work and the law, but according to the system. There is no justice or rule of law here,"  he said.
