The Albanian Road Authority announces that the road closure at the exit of the Llogara tunnel today was carried out as part of safety measures for the ongoing works on the tunnel's connecting roads. The announcement also states that the road was closed for 20 minutes and then traffic resumed normally.

" The planned explosion was carried out at 12:30, in the presence of the State Police, with the aim of disciplining and managing the circulation of vehicles. Given that traffic during this period is minimal, the road was blocked for about 20 minutes. After the completion of the process and the cleaning of the area, circulation continued normally ," the announcement states.

" The works are part of the road segment of the roads connecting to the Llogara Tunnel and aim to rehabilitate the existing road over a length of about 1 km from the tunnel exit on the Palasa side to the intersection with the new Palasa-Dhermi road."

Currently, work is underway to expand the existing axis, as well as to build a new axis of about 600 meters, where excavation works are being carried out for the road body. During the excavation process, in cases where hard rock material is found, it is necessary to use explosions with small amounts of explosives. It is expected that 5-6 more explosions will be carried out, where the next explosion may be carried out on Wednesday , ”the ARRSH announcement continues.
