An Australian national hockey player at the 2024 Paris Olympics was arrested on Tuesday night.
The news was made public by the Australian Olympic Committee, but did not disclose the identity of the person who was arrested, saying: "We continue to be informed about this matter, trying to help our team member. "We have no evidence of any charges against him this time."
Thomas Craig, 28, was out of the Olympic Village with a few friends on Tuesday night to take a walk through Paris. He was caught in the car by police while trying to buy cocaine.
A few hours later he was released, while in front of the cameras he apologised to his country, his team-mates, friends, family.
"I embarrassed you all, I'm sorry," he said.
