Tragic accident in Durrës: The car was moving at 114 km/h, the driver was under the influence of alcohol

New details emerge from the expertise on the tragic accident in Durrës, where the newlywed couple Kleo Vrioni and Sara Brugentelli and a 15-year-old minor lost their lives.

According to the experts' conclusions, the vehicle was moving at a speed of approximately 114 km/h in the moments before the accident.

From the reconstruction of the dynamics of the event, it results that, at the moment of taking the turn, the driver lost control of the vehicle.

Initially, the front tire on the passenger side hit the curb, causing the vehicle to further lose stability.

After colliding with the curb, the car overturned and then dragged for about 40 meters until it stopped.

Another important element of expertise is related to the driver's condition.

Toxicology tests confirmed that he had consumed alcohol.

Meanwhile, the other two injured are at the Trauma Hospital in the capital.

Three people lost their lives in this accident. The victims were the driver of the vehicle, Kleo Vrioni, his wife, Sara Brugentelli, and 15-year-old Alvi Muhaxhiri.

The driver of the vehicle and the 26-year-old Italian woman had been married just a few days earlier.

The young people were allegedly returning from Lalzi Bay, where they had been at a party at a bar.

The serious accident occurred at around 02:22, on a secondary road in Manzë.
