The surprise trip for the family turned into a tragedy. Festim Meçja is the 27-year-old young man who passed away yesterday just a few kilometers from his apartment in Sinaballaj, Rrogozhina, where he was looking forward to meeting his family members who would receive a surprise.

But the wrong overtaking and the loss of control of the vehicle type 'Benz' that he was driving ended up in scrap metal, under the wheels of the truck. He remained trapped for about an hour in the vehicle until it was possible to remove the dead body. While the truck driver, identified as IC, was not injured but was shocked by the serious incident.

From the moment of the accident that happened yesterday (August 4) it took many hours to learn his identity and details of the serious incident. He had left for Albania from Parma in Italy, where he had been living and working for a long time as an employee in a private enterprise to participate in two family celebrations.

He did not want to miss the marriages of his tribal relatives and did not inform anyone about returning to his homeland after a year. The celebration that did not arrive alive to his relatives had emigrated to help the family with economic problems. The 27-year-old left behind his brother who worked like him in Italy, his mother who suffered from health problems, his sister who had to study and his father who tried to earn an income by working in the countryside.

Festim Mecja died due to carelessness, say the first investigations. He lost control of the vehicle and ended up under the wheels of the truck at the very turn where he was about to enter to meet the family he longed for, just like any person who emigrates for a better life away from his family.
