A terrible accident happened near the village of Vrina, where a vehicle coming from Greece ended up in the canal of Butrint.

It is learned that the vehicle was driven by a couple of foreign tourists, who did not see the turn that leads to the boat and ended up in the canal.

Fortunately, the people who were nearby who operate the boat immediately jumped into the water and managed to get the couple of foreign tourists out of there.

Then the local nurse arrived at the scene and gave them first aid.

Lake Butrint is connected to the Ionian Sea through the Vivar channel and the crossing is only possible by boat.
