The head of the Department of Epidemiology at the IPH, Silva Bino stated this Tuesday that there is no evidence that the mysterious hepatitis, which is affecting children in the UK, has entered Albania.

Bino stressed that the situation on the ground is being monitored and the IPH has raised the alert for this new virus which is suspected to mainly affect the liver in children and has marked the first cases in countries like the UK and the US.

"Regarding this hepatitis, we received the notification about 3 weeks ago from the WHO and this notification was communicated to all structures. We do not have data in our country, the biggest cases are in the UK and the US where and where the virus first emerged.

It is a situation that is being monitored in the world and we have raised the alarm about it. "So far we do not notice any increase at the moment", said Bino.
