British authorities increased the sentence for an Albanian leader of a gang that trafficked cocaine between London and Sussex.
31-year-old Ergest Tarja led a gang, which formed part of a complex network, responsible for the supply of about 20 kilograms of cocaine between two British cities, over a period of almost 3 years.
Tarja used a special EncroChat phone to send and receive encrypted calls and messages in an attempt to cover her tracks.
But French police experts managed to discover messages that showed his involvement in the distribution of many kilograms of cocaine.
According to what the British Evening Standard writes, Tarja was currently serving a 4-year sentence and was sentenced to another 6 years and 6 months by Lewes court for conspiracy to distribute cocaine and being involved in its distribution.
Earlier in the court it was revealed that the Albanian had been living in Britain for many years with a false identity. According to British authorities, he played a leading role in organizing the purchase and sale of cocaine, helping to sell 5 kilograms of cocaine between March 2020 and April 2021.
