Spalletti and Buffon

Italy will be Albania's first opponent in Euro 2024, with the challenge scheduled for June 15 in Dortmund. Coach Luciano Spalletti commented on the draw, appreciating the Reds and Blacks quite a bit.

You start with Albania...

At the moment, Albania is one of the strongest in circulation. He is playing very nice football and is in fantastic conditions. Let's see if it will be at this level in June. I can't make predictions.

Are you happy with the group?

It could go better. Being in the fourth pot has these consequences, however we are Italy and we will play all the matches with pride. We start against Albania, but it is difficult to make predictions now. We will see how the condition of the footballers will be then.

Seven Albanian footballers play in Serie A...

I know you too, not football players anymore. I know everything about Albania.

After the draw for Euro 2024 where Albania was drawn in Group B with Spain, Croatia and Italy, the head of the Italian delegation, Gianluigi Buffon, spoke for Rai. The Italian legend called for Albania to be respected as it will be a problem in the group. "Let's not put the cart before the horse", emphasized Buffon, while adding that Albania has shown many values.

"The first match against Albania is stimulating, I think the right thing is not to put the "cart before the horse". Albania is in a hellish group, but it must be respected. I believe that Albania will be a problem not only for Italy, but also for Spain and Croatia.

We cannot predict whether a draw or loss to them in the opening game could affect our journey. Albania has values and has shown them", said Buffon.
