Poland eliminates Albania

Albania's World Cup dream has been dashed. The Reds were defeated 2-1 by Poland in a dramatic upset in the first leg of the play-offs.

Albania ended the first half with the advantage, after a goal scored by Arbër Hoxha in the 42nd minute.

In the 54th minute, Nedim Bajrami missed a golden opportunity, with a penalty on the move, while 9 minutes later the Poles equalized with Lewandowski.

Pilo also had a golden opportunity to take the lead in the 74th minute, but he was alone with the goalkeeper and was stopped by the latter. In the next action, Poland scored the advantage and the winning goal with Zielinski.

The result did not change until the end, with the Rossoneri being eliminated, in a match where they deserved more.
