The Serbia-Albania return match will be played in Belgrade and not in Leskovac, as was previously rumored, with the aim of avoiding the tensions of the Balkan derby.
The decision has been confirmed by the Football Federation of Serbia, which announced via social media that the World Cup qualifying matches against England on September 9 and Albania on October 11 will be played at the "Rajko Mitić" stadium in Belgrade.
Meanwhile, the final round match against Latvia will be played at the "Dubočica" stadium in Leskovac.
"After a detailed analysis, which, in addition to the sporting, organizational and security aspects, also included consultations with UEFA, it was concluded that the "Rajko Mitić" stadium, as the largest football facility in the country, will offer our national team optimal conditions for holding matches of high importance," the announcement states.

We recall that on October 14, 2014, the Serbia-Albania match, valid for the 2016 European Football Championship qualifiers, was played at the Partizan Stadium in Belgrade.
The match was interrupted after Serbian fans threw flares and other objects onto the pitch. At that moment, the famous drone carrying the flag with Albanian patriotic symbols, two photographs of Ismail Qemali and Isa Boletini, and a map of ethnic Albania with the inscription "Autochthonous" entered the stadium.
Further in the announcement, the Serbian Federation requests massive support for the national team.
"We invite you to fill the stands of our largest stadium and help the "Eagles" in key matches to qualify for the World Cup in the United States of America, Mexico and Canada in 2026. We sincerely hope that at the "Dubočica" stadium in Leskovac, where coach Stojković and his players feel at home, we will all have many reasons for joy and satisfaction after the match against Latvia, which is scheduled for November 16," the Serbian Federation announced.
The Serbian national team has already played two matches in the World Cup qualifiers and has four points. In the opening match of this qualifying campaign they took a point in Tirana, where they drew 0:0 against Albania, and then defeated Andorra with a score of 3:0 in Leskovac.
