Today, after several months, Neymar continues to be out of Ancelotti's choices and once again his name rings loud before, during and after matches.

Then, in the second friendly, won against Croatia, the topic returned to the press conference. With Ancelotti not ruling out the possibility of seeing him on the official list for the 2026 World Cup, but which the media and fans considered very remote, given the recent exclusions.

Why Ancelotti hasn't signed Neymar yet

A feeling reinforced by the words of the Italian Ancelotti, who defined the current list of players as "very well-defined", highlighting that in fact Neymar is not the first choice at all. "We have to talk about those who are here, those who are giving everything", underlined the coach, repeating a concept that has now become a mantra: "I observe everything and everyone". And his observation has pushed him towards the choices made later, which do not include the star who currently plays for Santos, also because Neymar's behavior itself would not have eased the situation.

Just before the two friendlies, Ancelotti and his staff had planned to see the former Barcelona player in action on March 11, precisely in view of the training sessions. Unfortunately, Neymar was not there, having withdrawn due to a muscle problem that once again coincided with his sister's birthday, which he almost never misses. Another reason why Ancelotti seems to have already oriented himself towards other, already determined choices.
