The Kosovo Football Federation is reportedly drafting a request to FIFA asking it to block Albania's ability to recruit footballers from Kosovo.
This was announced by the well-known coach in Kosovo, Tahir Batatina, who called it "serious" and "betrayal" that Albania took Kosovo footballer Etnik Brruti.
This has sparked great outrage in some circles in Kosovo, leading to the idea of ??a request to FIFA that players who start their careers from the ages of U-13 in Kosovo to U-21 not be eligible to represent another national team.
"Albania made the European Championship with Serbia, we reacted little, we should have reacted more. When you have an accident and don't learn from it, the second time you have a worse accident. We haven't reacted at all, we should have reacted much more. We have come to a situation now where the only player who has had no reason to go to Albania is Brruti. I don't support anyone, Brruti's father was my comrade-in-arms. But I don't know what more a coach can do when he puts on the captain's armband, he did it to Kosovo U-21. When the FFK saw that many players from Kosovo were leaving for Albania, they should have made a request to FIFA, which as far as I know was allowed.
This request should state that players who start their careers from the ages of U-13 in Kosovo to U-21 should not have the right to represent another national team. As far as I know, this is possible and we should contribute to this, knowing that it is not the first time that Albania is taking players from us. We say that we are brothers, even Ademi and Duka, but brothers do not betray each other. Brruti has made a big mistake for me, the state is bigger, money and career are not everything. I know how many patriots have come out now and are talking about this topic, but no, no, those patriots who have fought have fought for the liberation of Kosovo, because Albania has been liberated. Those who represent and work for Kosovo today are the true heroes of this country", said Batatina.
