Jose Mourinho seems closer than ever to fulfilling one of his biggest dreams: managing the Portuguese national team.

According to foreign media, the coach has reportedly reached an initial agreement with the Portuguese Federation to become the new coach of the national team in the summer.

The current Fenerbahçe coach, who arrived at the Turkish club with high expectations, has had a difficult few months in Istanbul.

His time in Turkey has been marred by various off-field controversies, which have weakened his public image and created tensions with both the press and fans.

Despite these setbacks, Mourinho remains highly regarded in his native country.

According to "HT Sport", the Portuguese Federation sees him as the ideal figure to lead a new project aimed at the 2026 World Cup.

His experience on the benches of Europe's most important clubs, combined with his strong character and ability to generate competition, have convinced Portuguese leaders to bet on him.

If his arrival is confirmed, he would replace Roberto Martíinez and have the challenge of reviving a talented dressing room.

Mourinho has never hidden his desire to manage the national team and everything indicates that this moment is approaching.
