The fake interview with Schumaker revolts the Germans

The German magazine 'Die Aktuelle' published an interview, selling it as a world 'scoop', but it was actually done with artificial intelligence. In Germany, public opinion has revolted.

Mikael Shumaker's family will pursue legal action. The reaction comes after an interview published by 'Die Aktuelle' about the former pilot who has not appeared in public for almost 10 years, since the skiing accident that caused him serious health problems.

The magazine conducted an interview through an artificial intelligence program that answered as if it were Shumaker. The article was sold to the public as if it were the former pilot's 'first interview', as a 'world sensation', with the aim of attracting more readers. In smaller letters it was specified that 'the answers looked like the truth'. Shumaker's family has immediately decided to sue 'Die Aktuelle'.

As of 2013, information about Shumaker's health is almost non-existent. It has been decided not to reveal anything about his real condition, family members have kept the curious away, so the alleged interview published by 'Die Aktuelle' caused a sensation. On the first page it was difficult to understand that the speaker was not the real Shumaker.

The title was "my life has changed after the accident", while the questions were numerous. In Germany, various media have condemned the action of the weekly magazine. Other media have reacted, saying they feel insulted by the way the magazine works. Even on social networks, the interview has been severely criticized.

Of course, the members of the Shumaker family were more shocked, as they told Reuters that they will pursue the case legally.
