Ten hours after being taken in a serious condition to the emergency room of the Can Ruti hospital in Badalona, ??the life of the father of the Barcelona footballer Lamin Yamal is no longer in danger.

The media in Spain report that the condition of Munir Nasraoui appears to be stabilized even after he continues to be hospitalized after the knife attack he suffered on Wednesday evening.

Nasraoui was taken to hospital in Barcelona after being stabbed several times in the attack which took place in a car park on Calle Frank Marshall in the Rocafonda neighbourhood, where the family of the footballer who won the European Championship with Spain lives.

According to the information, the policemen who are investigating the attack on him have arrested three people who are accused of "attempted murder". Statements of eyewitnesses were also taken, who say that Munir received "more than one stab".

The three arrests were made around 22:30 on Wednesday night thanks to descriptions of the perpetrators provided by eyewitnesses.

Although it is still not clear why Yamal's father was attacked, Catalan media point out that a few hours before the bloody incident he was involved in a fight with several people while walking his dog.

According to the same sources, some people threw water on him from a balcony and as a result a fight started between Munir and the residents of the building, which ended after the intervention of the municipal police officers who were in the area.

Munir Nasraoui was until recently an unknown resident of Mataro's Rocafonda neighborhood, but his son's talent as a striker for Barcelona and then as the rising star of the Spanish national team that won Euro 2024 made him a public figure.

The 32-year-old has been involved in violent situations in the past. In June 2023, in a video that went viral he was seen attacking far-right Vox MP Mónica Lora in the town of Mare, an act for which he was fined 546 euros.
