England seeks historic record in Tirana, Tuchel: Albania deserved second place, but we will dominate the match

England will not appear to be taking to the field against Albania relaxed on Sunday afternoon, despite having already secured qualification for the World Cup.

If Thomas Tuchel's team wins and manages to keep a clean sheet, they will become the first team in Europe to play six qualifying matches and win them without conceding a goal.

Also, a victory against the Rossoneri would put England in a very exclusive group, with only 3 other teams having won all their World Cup qualifying matches. Germany has previously done this twice, in the 1982 and 2018 qualifiers, as well as Spain and the Netherlands in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers, where both teams were finalists.

Tuchel: Albania fully deserved second place, but we will dominate the match

England coach Thomas Tuchel made his debut in the Three Lions' first World Cup qualifier in London on March 21, which the hosts won 2-0. Since then, England have dominated the group, winning all their matches and conceding no goals.

"I've learned a lot since then, I've had to learn a lot because it's different from running a club," said England's German coach, Thomas Tuchel, at a media conference in Tirana the day before the Albania-England match.

"We have all grown a lot together. We want to win again against Albania, which is a difficult team to beat. In the qualifiers they have only conceded 3 goals, 2 from us. It is difficult to score against them."

Asked if he thought Albania would finish second in the group, Tuchel replied: " I saw that Albania and Serbia were very passionate about their teams, they have always had talented players playing in strong championships and we thought they were two teams that had to be beaten. Now we see that Albania fully deserved second place. It is very difficult to create and take chances against them. I think we will dominate the game."

"Albania is strong on the counterattack, I know Broja very well"

Tuchel highly praised the Rossoneri, saying they are strong on counterattacks.

He also spoke about Armando Broja, whom he said he knows very well from his time at Chelsea, and added that he expects to play on the right wing.

"They are very strong on the counter-attack, they are very flexible in midfield, they change positions a lot, which will be quite difficult to defend. They like to attack on the right with a lot of speed and dangerous crosses.

We know that an unbroken goal can always be broken in football. I know Broja very well because he was my player at Chelsea. He plays regularly for Albania and mainly on the right wing, where we expect him tomorrow. He brings depth and speed, he is dangerous because he always thinks about scoring. I hope we have solutions to protect him.

"Overall I hope that our thirst to win and achieve something is greater than the fear of losing and the fear of losing the goal intact. We shouldn't focus too much on this, we should be more excited about the next opportunity to show our quality ," Tuchel said.

Kane: We are very motivated

"I know we've qualified and Albania is a playoff, but we haven't conceded a goal yet and I think that's a big motivation. It would be special to finish the qualifiers without conceding a goal," England captain Harry Kane told a media conference in Tirana. "We also want to show our best level and if we do that, we think we can beat anyone in the world, no matter who we're up against."

Kane himself is having a great season with Bayern Munich, something that will put him at the service of the Three Lions. " So far everything has gone well. This is the last game for England this year and it is important to win ," he added.

The big challenge will start at 18:00, at the "Air Albania" national stadium.
